STATE: A Team, A Triumph, A Transformation

What did Arlene do before her many years of public service to the Village?

Girl Power! Learn how former Mayor, Arlene J. Mulder, was on the forefront of Title IX as she coached the Niles West Girls Basketball team on its way to a state championship.

You are invited to an evening with Arlene and author Melissa Isaacson (STATE: A Team, A Triumph, A Transformation).

You will hear about a basketball team of high school girls, in the mid 1970’s, led by Mulder amid the new Title IX ruling that allowed girls to compete as high school athletes.

The book details the story of a group of talented young women during a monumental time in our nation’s history.

The event is free, but reservations are required. To register go to https://www.ahml.info/scheduling/reservation/46995/register/confirmed.
