Fuel a Love of Reading
The Bookmobile Campaign was a resounding success!
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we met our goal and raised $150,000 to bring a new Bookmobile to life. The new Bookmobile will be unveiled in summer 2026, replacing our current vehicle and ensuring Arlington Heights Memorial Library can continue delivering library services and access throughout the community for years to come. We could not have done this without the support of our donors at every level—from the spare change dropped into the cash box at farmers markets to the generous contributions of $5,000 and more.
We extend special thanks to our major donors: Tom and Renee Schwingbeck; Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd; Chicago Bears; The Dungan Family Foundation; Anisha Jogee & Sajid Patel; John Fetcho; Sheila Osgood; Village Bank and Trust; and our generous Anonymous donors.

The Library in the Community

Bookmobiles act as centers for community engagement, cultivating a sense of belonging and connection among seniors, people with disabilities, or residents without reliable transportation.
It helps to cultivate a sense of belonging and connection among residents who might otherwise feel isolated or disconnected from wider social networks.
Our Current Bookmobile
16 years old and body is rusting. The current bookmobile is wrapped to cover flaws.
Lost 11 days of service last year while being repaired.
$10,000 to $15,000 in additional costs annually beyond basic operations, and these costs will accelerate as the vehicle ages.
Replacement costs have doubled and will continue to increase. Postponing will result in higher costs and loss of access to some community members.
