To inspire and promote education in the trades for today and in the future.
The annual award amounts and the number of scholarships available will be determined by the AHML Foundation Board of Directors. Scholarship award funds will only be sent directly to the financial aid department of the school the applicant will attend. The scholarship award shall be applied to tuition, fees, and textbooks.
Candidates must live within the boundaries of High School District 214.
Recent graduates (age 17-25) and those on track to graduate in the Spring of 2025 are eligible.
Candidates interested in pursuing a career in the trades (examples: plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, machining, welding, cosmetology, culinary, etc.) that require advanced training other than a 4 year degree.
Candidates must complete the Foundation Scholarship application, which includes providing a letter of recommendation and completing two short-answer questions on the candidate’s trade interest and why they should be awarded a scholarship.
Staff, directors, and officers of AHML and the AHML Foundation or members of the selection committees as well as their children and relatives are ineligible.
To assist students entering the trades with financial assistance to complete their education.
The scholarship committee is comprised of members of the Board of Directors of the AHML Foundation and community members.
Completed and eligible applications are evaluated by the scholarship committee.
Successful applicants will be recognized in the Daily Herald and in AHML communications including social media. Scholarship recipients may submit a photo and signed release form for external communication.

AHML Foundation will investigate any suspected misuse of funds.
$2,500 scholarships will be awarded:
Foundation scholarships, the Jeffrey P. Maroney Scholarship for the Trades, and the Hartnett Family Scholarship for the Trades.
