Memorial and Tribute Gifts

Pet Memorial Donations

Sponsorships and Naming Opportunities
These options are available for special Foundation programs, events and at specific locations. Contact the Foundation for specifics.
Planned Gifts
The Foundation will accept cash or cash equivalents that it receives as a designated beneficiary.
Gifts in-Kind
Items such as furniture, equipment, computer hardware and software and library-related artifacts are examples of gifts in-kind that may be considered for acceptance by the Foundation board on a case by-case basis. Donors who wish to give gifts in-kind to the Foundation should contact our Treasurer at info@ahmlfoundation.org to discuss the gift. In considering such gifts, donors are encouraged to consult with their financial advisors.
Retirement Plan Beneficiary Designations
The Arlington Heights Memorial Library Foundation can be named as a beneficiary of a donor’s retirement plans, such as 401 (k) and 403 (b) plans and IRAs. Such designations may not be recorded as gifts to the Foundation until such time as the gift agreement is irrevocable and the Foundation has knowledge of such designation.
Qualified Charitable Donation (QCD)
Funds deposited directly from your retirement assets. Contact your financial advisor. Please ensure that you are identified as the donor.
Bequests of Cash or other Liquid Assets
Can be made to the Foundation through a donor’s will. Donors should notify our Treasurer at info@ahmlfoundation.org when considering a bequest.
Wire Transfers and ACH Transfers
These may be directly transferred to the Foundation’s bank account as authorized.
Marketable Securities
Securities that are actively traded on a recognized stock exchange and other readily available marketable securities, including bonds and mutual funds may be accepted as gifts according to specific guidelines.

- Publicly Traded Securities: All such planned transactions require advance notice to our Treasurer at info@ahmlfoundation.org providing specific details such as the number of shares, the intended gift date and any intended restriction on the gift as indicated.
- Donation of Securities through electronic means (e.g. Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation).
- Donation of Securities via mail should the donor have physical custody of the stock or bond certificates.
- Certificates should be mailed, without any endorsement or assignment, and be sent by registered mail to:

- In a separate envelope, the donor should mail one endorsed stock and/or bond power form per certificate to the above address. The signature on the stock and/or bond power form shall be guaranteed.
- The signed stock and/or bond power forms must be sent and received separate from the actual stock/bond certificate(s) and the signature on the stock and/or bond power forms must match the names(s) on the certificates.
- The gift date will be the date of the receipt of the later postmark of the two envelopes.
